merry christmas to all :)
hello everyone, merry christmas. my name is jamie, i use the name "ausie" on skyscrapercity where i have posted paper models of famous buildings from arond the world since june 2009. when i fist came to skyscrapercity in january of 2008 i had no idea what a paper model was other than what the name says for itself. 8 months later i decided to join skyscrapercity as i wanted to share my opinion on things. at first i stuck to the world development forums but 4 months later whilst reading a post by the most famous card modeller known to skyscrapercity, Reiayanami i noticed a link in his signature saying "visit my free paper models here". i clicked the link and was instantly amazed at models. the first model i made was from epson.com and the the bank of china tower in hong kong, my favorite building in the world, and is the only model from my first collection of models i still have. after 7 months of making models posted by forumers such as rei ayanami and the nightfly, i began to wonder, perhaps i could do this. my very first models were very very limited and weren't even to scale. by the end of august 2009 i realised that my models weren't to the same scale as everyone else so i decided to change my methods and try some new ways of making the cladding/textures of the buildings, the first model i made to 1:1700 scale was the renaissance centre building in detroit. after a while of making models i recieved word that from a friend that i had been banned from skyscrapercity for posting an innapropriate image of an airbus a380 crashing into the amazing burj dubai lake hotel (address hotel) in dubai. i was eager to make more models so i came up with the idea of making some models in secret for special events such as other modellers birthdays, christmas and new years eve. i hope you like these models everyone, they may be the last models you'll see from me for a while. these are the best i can do. i hope you apreciate them
